… and what we do
Power Systems and Renewable Energy Integration Group is a research lab by prof. Damir Jakus and is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB) at the University of Split.
Our research activity focuses on advancing the integration of renewable energy sources and optimizing power system operations. We develop innovative strategies for power system analysis and optimization, transmission network planning, and electricity market modeling. Our key research areas include power system analysis and optimization, renewable energy sources integration, electricity market modeling, mathematical programming, artificial intelligence applications in power system forecasting, analysis of power system electromagnetic transients, overvoltage coordination, lightning performance analysis, computation of electric and magnetic fields, and earthing system analysis.
Our work lies at the intersection of renewable energy integration, power system optimization, and the application of machine learning techniques to enhance power system opeartion and economics.
